Ron Carroll, 1999

Ron received his B.S.E. in Physical Education from Arkansas State University in 1975 followed by his Master's in Physical Education, Specialization in Athletic Training from Indiana State University in 1976. He has been the Head Athletic Trainer at Arkansas State University since August 1976. He is a Physical Education Instructor in the Athletic Training Curriculum program as well as an instructor in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation courses. Ron has been the host trainer and instructor of the Cramer Student and Coaches Athletic Training Workshops for seven years. He has been instrumental to the athletic training profession as guest speaker to the NATA, SWATA, Arkansas AAHPER State Convention, Arkansas Chapter of the Physical Therapy Association, Arkansas Activities Association Annual Coaches Meeting, Northeast Arkansas Pharmacy Association and various civic clubs. Ron has been diligent in his efforts to promote athletic training by serving as President and President-Elect of the AATA, NATA District Six Continuing Education and Governmental Affairs Representative, Arkansas State Representative to SWATA, and Chairman to the Arkansas Athletic Trainer Committee of the Arkansas Physical Therapy Board by Governor appointment since 1996. Ron was presented with the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Association's Unsung Hero Watch Award in 1997, National Athletic Trainers' Association Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award in 1998 and inducted into the Southwest Athletic Trainers' Associations Hall of Fame in 1998. He and his wife Vicki have three children, Stephen, John, and Kathryn.
