Mission Statement:

The Secondary School Athletic Trainers’ Committee (SSATC) is dedicated to promoting the secondary school setting by: maintaining a safe athletic environment for student athletes, developing and providing resources that may enhance the effectiveness and marketability of the profession, and recognizing the unique concerns and responsibilities associated with the secondary school setting.

Objectives:

  • Work with all “stakeholders” associated with the healthcare of secondary school aged athletes. 

  • Promote the marketable qualifications for certified athletic trainers to school Administrators and Community Members in Arkansas. 

  • To obtain information pertaining to the work environment of certified athletic trainers in the secondary school setting. 

  • To secure employment for certified athletic trainers in the secondary school setting within the state of Arkansas. 

Members of the Secondary Schools Committee should ideally possess the following traits:

  1. Dedication: They are dedicated to the success and wellbeing of the students and the school community.

  2. Leadership: They possess strong leadership qualities, are able to inspire and motivate others, and are willing to take on a variety of responsibilities.

  3. Communication: They have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and are able to articulate their ideas and concerns effectively.

  4. Collaboration: They work well with others and are able to collaborate effectively with other members of the committee and school staff.

  5. Problem-solving: They are skilled in identifying problems and developing solutions, using a creative and innovative approach.

  6. Time management: They are able to manage their time effectively, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  7. Attention to detail: They have a keen eye for detail and are able to focus on small aspects of a project while still keeping the bigger picture in mind.

  8. Accountability: They are willing to take responsibility for their decisions and actions, and are accountable to the school community.

  9. Passion: They are passionate about education and are committed to creating a positive learning environment for students.

  10. Respectful: They are respectful of the diversity of the school community and are able to work with individuals from different backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives.
