Mission Statement:

It is the mission of the AATA Honors and Awards Committee to nominate and identify AATA members eligible to receive association awards, to purchase and distribute these awards, and to assist with the annual Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet. 

Objectives:

  • To locate the members of the AATA eligible to receive association awards. 

  • To purchase and distribute honor awards. 

  • To work in cooperation with the Executive Board to organize the Annual Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet. 

Members of the Honors and Awards Committee should ideally possess the following traits:

  1. Objectivity: They are able to evaluate candidates fairly and objectively, without bias or personal preferences.

  2. Attention to detail: They pay close attention to detail, ensuring that all applications and nominations are thoroughly reviewed and evaluated based on established criteria.

  3. High standards: They have high standards and expectations for award recipients, ensuring that the awards are meaningful and prestigious.

  4. Ethics: They adhere to a strong code of ethics, maintaining confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest.

  5. Communication: They have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and are able to communicate the criteria and process for selecting award recipients to the wider community.

  6. Professionalism: They are professional in their approach to their role, treating all applicants and nominees with respect and maintaining a high level of integrity throughout the process.

  7. Time management: They are able to manage their time effectively, meeting deadlines and ensuring that the selection process runs smoothly.

  8. Collaboration: They work well with other committee members and are able to collaborate effectively to make decisions about award recipients.

  9. Creativity: They are able to think creatively to identify new and innovative award categories or criteria.

  10. Commitment: They are committed to upholding the integrity of the awards and ensuring that they recognize and celebrate excellence in a meaningful way.
